VBRN provided funding to send Abigail Chauvin, senior Health Sciences major, and Dr. Kylie Blodgett to attend an EPSCoR/IDeA Foundation event in Washington DC learning about IDeA program funding through NIH. We spent the morning learning from some of the folks who lobby on behalf of IDeA funding. In the afternoon we met with members of Congresswoman Balint and Senator Welch’s teams. We also had a surprise opportunity to explain our research and the critical impacts of VBRN and IDeA program funding to Congresswoman Balint directly.
