SUMMARY:"Introduction to NCBI Pathogen Detection and antimicrobial resistance data in Google BigQuery"
DESCRIPTION:NCBI Outreach Bioinformatics Workshop \nMarch 28\, 2023 12:00-12:30 PM \nRegister for workshop  \n“Introduction to NCBI Pathogen Detection and antimicrobial resistance data in Google BigQuery” \nThe NCBI Pathogen Detection project houses over 1.3 million genomes from microbial isolates. As part of our analysis pipeline we developed and use the AMRFinderPlus tool to identify over 17 million antimicrobial resistance genes and point mutations\, and select virulence and stress resistance genes. To make this data easier to use\, we have worked with Google Cloud Platform to provide access to metadata and sequences through BigQuery and Cloud Storage buckets. This webinar will introduce you to the Pathogen Detection pipeline and what data is available\, show you the basics of accessing the data using Google BigQuery\, and show you where to find more information and tutorials.

SUMMARY:"An Introduction to Accessing NCBI Resources on the Command Line using EDirect for Biologists"
DESCRIPTION:NCBI Bioinformatics Workshop \nMarch 28\, 2023 1:00-3:00 PM \nRegister for workshop  \n“An Introduction to Accessing NCBI Resources on the Command Line using EDirect for Biologists” \nThis workshop is for biological researchers who would like to learn to use the command line for searching and fetching NCBI data. In this workshop\, we will begin with an introduction to working in a command line environment and then show you how to use the EDirect suite to access data programmatically from several NCBI databases. You do not need to have had prior experience with the command line\, but we do recommend that you have some familiarity with NCBI databases get the most of this workshop.
