Lori Stevens, PhD, Professor of Biology at UVM 

Dr. Stevens’ research is on the evolution and ecology of host-pathogen interactions, especially population genetics of invertebrate hosts of Chagas’ disease and whirling disease. Dr. Stevens started working on Chagas Disease in Bolivia around 2000 and started current collaborations with colleagues in Guatemala and New Orleans in 2006. Teaching includes Population Genetics, introductory biology and now as an extension of the Chagas research a new international service learning course: Chagas disease epidemiology by native forest restoration.
